As we moved towards the 25% mark of the 1980s, there was a tendency for bands to create “big” songs – songs that went for longer than we’d previously been used to – tending to be longer than 4 minutes, rather than the 3 minute songs that dominated the 70s.
Foreigner had been to the Australian charts a couple of times in the 1970s with a degree of success but, to me, this track showed a maturity of sound that was evident in the earlier work. While only reaching number 4 on the Australian charts, it set a great platform for their number 1 hit a year or two later – I Want To Know What Love Is.
